Marine snow is a integral part of aquatic photography. And although there are things that can be done to minimize it, sometimes it takes brute force editing.
To get the best results, each “flake” must be carefully removed individually. Special filters are then applied to help smooth out some of the noise and hand crafted masks ensure that the subject remains sharp.
Excessive marine snow is not only time consuming to clean up, but it can have detrimental effects on the end product.
